Contemporary Bobbili and Vizianagaram: Tandra Papparayudu

In the center of the market in Bobbili, just outside palace walls stands a statue of Tandra Papparayudu, the courtier of Bobbili who is said to have avenged the Rajah's death by killing the Rajah of Vizianagaram three night after the siege. The style of the killing still makes for an important part of the Bobbili tale, as Tandra Papparayudu is said to have entered the Rajah's tent, and presented himself as the Tiger of Bobbili, just prior to disemboweling him.
