John R. Haddad is Assistant Professor of American Studies and Literature at Penn State Harrisburg. He received his A.B. in English from Harvard College in 1991, his M.A. in English from Yale University in 1996, and his Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002. He has previously taught at the University of Central Oklahoma, the University of Texas, and Nankai University in the People's Republic of China. It was during his experience in China that he first developed an interest in Sino-American cultural contacts. He currently resides in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, with his wife, Minhui, and their son, William.
