Woman on New Mexico Ranch

This woman, who lived on a ranch in New Mexico, most likely made her dress. Joan Severa notes of this photograph that it is proof of isolated women’s ability to dress fashionably, and that doing so was a way to mitigate loneliness and difficulty. See Severa, 529.
