Eugène Deloncle (Brest, 1890) founded the Mouvement social révolutionnaire in 1940 but joined with Marcel Déat in the Rassemblement national populaire later that year. After a period of rivalry between the two, he was expelled in May, 1942. His murder by gunshot in his apartment in January, 1944 is ascribed usually to the Gestapo.
